God is so in love with you. His greatest desire is to see His people healthy, wealthy, wise and alive! He desires to see His children walk in His blessings!
“For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.”
Psalm 149:4
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. ”
Revelation 4:11
Notice, the whole reason that God put man on earth was to give Him pleasure. However, He doesn’t just take pleasure in the fact that we exist, there is
more!
“Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. ”
Psalm 35:27b
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
3 John 2
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
Luke 12:32
We need to understand that it gives God His greatest joy when His children walk in His blessings. God absolutely despises it when people die or get involved in the effects of death (Ezekiel 18:23,32). Not that he despises the people, He just hates when his creation is robbed of its original purpose! You may say, “Pastor Thad, that sounds great! God wants me prosperous in every area of my life. I know that! The problem is that I’m not seeing the manifestations that the Word of God describes.” Well, let’s look at three things that make the Word of God ineffective in your life.
1. It is ineffective because of TRADITIONS!
Mark 7:13 tells us, “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” The traditions, rites, rituals and old ways of thinking have made the Word of God ineffective! Just because, at one time, people thought the world was flat doesn’t mean that it was. They just needed greater revelation! Just because, at one time, people thought that God kills some people and makes some people poor doesn’t mean that He actually does. They just need greater revelation. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge… Daniel 12:4 tells us that in the end times knowledge will increase. Which means that God isn’t coming back for a church that is still believing old wives tales. But He is coming back for a glorious church without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27).
2.) In is ineffective because of your FLESH!
Romans 4:14 says, ” For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect.” The law represents people who trusted in their fleshly activities for salvation. This is telling us that if you are still living according to your flesh to get results, and not according to your spirit man, then those results will not be according to the Word but according to the world. The promises of God are effective to those who are walking and living by faith, not those who are operating according to their flesh. “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace” (Galatians 5:4). Beloved, if you are trying to work yourself to the blessings of God, it just won’t work!
3. It is ineffective because of your SOUL!
1 Corinthians 1:17 declares,
“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” There are pastors who simply try to convince people of God’s ways. However, if you are not teaching spirit man to spirit man it will make the work that Jesus did on the cross of no effect to you.
Beloved. if you have to understand everything before you do. it, you will never have full access to the blessings of God. That is why Proverbs 3:5,6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” It Doesm’t Stop There! Well, if there are things that will make the Word of God ineffective in your life, then there has to be some things that will make God’s Word effective in you. Let me give you three things that will make the Word of God effective.
1.) It will be effective when you understand your RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Righteousness simply means that you are in right standing with God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says that we have already been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, because of the work that He did on the cross. You cannot become any more righteous than you are right now! James 5:16b tells us, “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” When you understand your righ-teousness, and you are not trying to prove anything or earn anything, your prayers can be effective and accomplish a lot! When you know that you are in right standing with God then you can enjoy your relationship with Him and come before His throne with confidence! Hebrews 10:35 tells us that our confidence will bring us a great reward!
2.) It will be effective when you understand COVENANT relations.
Ephesians 4:15 and 16 says, given us the spirit 2.) It will be effective when you understand COVENANT relations. Ephesians 4:15 and 16 says, “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” When every part of the body of Christ is doing what they need to be doing and the not fighting with one another, then increase will be a natural part of the church Christians need to spend their time loving and reaching out to one another, working at getting other’s needs met first, then increase and God’s blessings will flow freely!
3.) It will be effective when you understand your POWER in God.
Ephesians 3:7 declares, “Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.” The reason that we can do anything in this life is because God has empowered us to do His will. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). You may say, how do I tap into that power? Luke 24:49 tells us, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon vou: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” That power that Jesus is talking about is the power of the Holy Spirit. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” (Acts 1:8). If you want that power to make the Word of God effective in your life, you need to be baptized in the Holv Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Once you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, then you need to build “vourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” (Jude 20).
Just Do It! God loves to see His Word manifesting in the lives of His children. Let’s do the things that we need to do to see that Word become effective in our lives!
